Anyone who has Venetian blinds installed throughout their home will tell you that they make for a beautiful addition. But whether they’re located in your kitchen, a bedroom, the study or anywhere else, regular cleaning will go a long way to ensuring that your space looks amazing all year round. Not sure how to get started? You’ve come to the right place.
Method 1: Vacuum cleaning
If you’re in a pinch and don’t have time to get down and dirty, then this is the technique for you. It involves dusting your blinds by hand and collecting dirt with a vacuum. Pretty easy, right? Simply grab a feather duster and get to work on each slat, remembering to wipe both sides. Then, get your vacuum ready and start sucking up anything that’s left behind. This is a great method if you don’t have time for a more thorough clean.
Method 2: Spray and cloth
When using this method, it’s important to think about the type of material that your blinds are made. Doing so will ensure that they aren’t damaged by the cleaning process.
Cleaning timber venetian blinds is really easy and it’s something that anyone can do. Dust away any excess and then wash with a clean cloth. For a brilliant finish, apply a small amount of furniture polish to your cloth and wipe each slat.
Start by dusting any dirt or follicles off of each slat and then add a splash of detergent to a bucket of water. Dip a sponge or microfiber cloth into the liquid and then wipe the blinds thoroughly. After this, rinse your sponge in clean water and give everything a once over.
Similar to timber blinds, you’ll want to dust each slat thoroughly before getting started, Then, use a bit of soapy water to wash all sides of the blinds and then follow up with a clean wash to rinse away any suds.
