Every security screen is manufactured in our Currumbin Waters factory using reinforced stainless-steel woven mesh inside high-tensile aluminium frames — tested to AS 5039 / AS 5040 / AS 5041 for impact, knife shear, jemmy, pull and probe resistance. Finished in marine-grade powdercoat, fitted with stainless-steel fasteners, and sealed for Gold Coast humidity, sun and salt air.

- Mesh: 0.9mm stainless-steel woven, 304 or 316 marine-grade depending on exposure
- Frame: high-tensile extruded aluminium, mitred corners, internal reinforcement

The Australian Consumer Law (ACL)
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Gold Coast Blinds and Shutters will choose the appropriate remedy:
- Replacement of the security screen
- Repair of the security screen
- Refunding the cost of the security screen
- Payment of the reasonable costs of having the screen repaired
Commencement of Warranty
The warranty period commences from the date of installation. Replacement of a screen or component under this warranty does not change the warranty commencement date — the original date continues to apply.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
Warranty claims can be made at point of sale, or by emailing a claim to the manufacturer within one (1) month of a defect appearing. Claims must include: date of purchase, proof of purchase, date of installation, and contact details.

Gold Coast security screens face sun, salt, humidity and the occasional southerly. They’re designed for it — but a quick clean a couple of times a year keeps the powdercoat looking new and the locks working smoothly for the long haul.
Regular care
- Hose mesh and frames down twice a year to clear salt and dust — a low-pressure rinse is plenty
- Wipe locks, hinges and frames with a damp microfibre cloth
- A drop of lubricant on hinges and lock cylinders once a year keeps everything moving freely
- Check the door seal/dust strip occasionally for compression and replace if worn
Spot cleaning
- Use lukewarm water and a small amount of mild detergent
- Sponge or microfibre cloth only — do not scrub or use abrasive pads
- Rinse with clean water and dry off lock and hinge hardware
- For marine exposure (beachfront), wipe down monthly to remove salt residue
What to avoid
- Harsh chemicals, bleach, ammonia or solvent-based cleaners on the powdercoat
- High-pressure washing — can force water into lock and hinge mechanisms
- Abrasive pads on the mesh — stainless is strong but the powdercoat can scratch
- Ignoring a sticking lock — lubricate or call us early before it seizes
